Heard an interesting story from a friend of mine.  A birthday cake was ordered from a friend of the mom.  When it was picked she was told that the baker had tried a new recipe and wanted her feed back on how the cake was.  The cake was stored in the refrigerator until it was time to cut the cake.  The candles were blown out and then they went to slice the cake. They could hardly cut the cake, when they tasted it is was dry, crumbly and tasteless  The mom was very upset and embarrassed, her friend has always made great cakes.  So since this was a weekend event they carried on and the next day the cake was just sitting on the counter (out of the fridge) the mom decided to try another bit.  The knife slid right through the cake, the cake was moist and tasted wonderful.  She called everyone into the house and made them all taste it. They all had a good laugh because now instead of tossing the cake they were dividing it up and taking pieces home with them.
